10% Of All Music Streamed Globally Is By UK Artists

UK artists now control a 10% stake of the global streaming share according to BPI. After carrying out an analysis based on the music charts of 14 major music markets, account for 3/4 of global recorded music consumption the British Phonographic Industry found that 1 in 10 songs streamed is by a British musician.


The extraordinary figure is a clear example of the massive strides the UK has taken in cultivating a greater global listenership. Streaming is allowing artist to forge International careers reaching more markets than ever.

Contributing artist range from established names like Adele and Coldplay – burgeoning stars like Dua Lipa, Lewis Capaldi and Stormzy – to more recent cultural exports like Headie One and Jorja Smith.
