Adele and Ed Sheeran have reportedly both refuse invitations to play at the coronation of King Charles III.

The British music titans were meant to be personally selected by the new monarch as part of a list several of artists he would like to see on the day of his coronation.

Sheeran will be performing in Texas the day before the Coronation concert and Adele, reportedly “turned down the invitation without explanation.”

Speaking on the King’s reaction to the news an organiser of the event said, “He was very keen that they were part of the concert… There is a team set up to get the talent signed up so they approached the two of them, but got replies saying that they were unavailable, which was a massive disappointment,”

“They are titans of the showbiz industry and are quintessentially British but also known across the globe. It’s such a shame.”

Lionel Richie and the Spice Girls are now likely to take the stage on May 7th, with other special guests in the works.
