Applications For The PRS Foundation’s 2022 ‘Power Up’ Programme For Black Artists and Creative Professionals Now Open

The PRS Foundation’s ‘Power Up’ initiative is back for its second year – with applications for the Black music creator and industry professional empowerment programme currently being accepted.

40 participants – 20 black music creators and 20 black executives and industry professionals will be selected, aiming to break down barriers to create a fairer, more equitable music industry, to achieve better representation in all sectors of the UK music industry. ivermectin treatment for bed bugs

Doing their part in addressing the “barriers for those at crucial career stages”, PRS Foundation has confirmed successful applicants will receive:

• Grant support of up to £15,000 • Taking part in the long-term POWER UP network • Professional Development Masterclasses • Mentoring and Coaching • Collaborative opportunities • In person and digital meet ups • Access to partners • Marketing support

Participants from year one include the likes of Ego Ella May, Daniel Kidane, KG, TAALIAH and more.

Participant KG who now has a show on Capital said of the programme, “The access alone to music industry resources, business and financial knowledge, the benefit of community support – absolutely priceless. I am truly grateful.”

Yaw Owusu, Senior POWER UP Manager at PRS Foundation said, “It’s been amazing to see the positive impact and outcomes of the inaugural POWER UP participant programme on the careers and activities of the cohort,”

“It has been so fulfilling to see measurable change – whether that has been the exchange of essential information and ideas, projects and ambitions being fulfilled, support and inspiration being shared, or new networks and work being created.”
