Congress has finally confirmed Joe Biden and Kamala Harris as the next president and vice-president of the USA. After being unceremoniously halted by a riotous mob of trump supporters, legislators worked through the night to approve the results of the November 2020 election.

In the what can only be described as one of the greatest security failings in US history, violent extremist seemed to comfortably take over the Capitol building reeking havoc along the way. The self proclaimed “patriots” in superb irony waved confederate, blue lives matter and Trump flags, during their invasion of the building and subsequent clash with the police.

There has been a universal condemnation from almost all parties in regards to what to took place, with other world leaders like Boris Johnson calling it a “disgrace”.

In all of this Donald Trump finally pledged an orderly transition of power on 20 January, although he still has not conceded defeat continuing his baseless claims of electoral fraud.
