The award-winning South African DJ and producer Black Coffee will be performing a one-off headline show at Beckenham Place Park this summer on the 11th of September 2022. Presented by Krankbrother, the minds behind Naked City and RE-TEXTURED festival, and Metropolis Music will see Black Coffee play an extended set and will welcome friends and rising DJs to the stage who will be announced at a later date.

Earlier this month, Black Coffee, real name Nkosinathi Maphumulo, made history as the first African to win the Grammy for the ‘Best Dance/Electronic Album’ for his seventh studio record, Subconsciously. Although renowned for championing afro house, Maphumulo has always refused to be pigeon-holed and has effortlessly sidestepped clichés with his dynamic and creative approach as he reimagines the boundaries of genre.

On his meteoric rise, Black Coffee has become a well sought-after producer with megastars such as Drake, Pharell, David Guetta and Usher all counting themselves as collaborators. In addition to his star studded fans, he also counts DJ Mag, Beatportal, The Fader and more as supporters. With Mixmag writing that Black Coffee is the “single most exciting DJ on the planet”.

Feeling most at home centre stage the pioneering DJ will bring his signature sound to the idyllic rolling grasslands of Beckenham Place Park, which is nestled amongst protected ancient woodland and a beautiful lake. The recently converted golf course in the heart of South London will boast two stages for the all-dayer.
