GRAMMY-Award winning and 5 x MOBO nominated London duo Blue Lab Beats have returned with two new singles, ‘Slow Heart’ and ‘Fire Up’. The tracks feature Jamila Woods and Blackout & Sanity respectively.

The double release showcases the versatility of the pair while they work the collaborating artists into their music effortlessly. There is a freedom to their music that has carried them to global accolades.

Speaking on ‘Slow Heart’, Blue Lab Beats state:

“The Jamila Woods track was first done about 3 years ago as a demo for her last project. It didn’t get used, but it was too good to let go. We wanted to give it new life, so we fully reworked the track to fit the sound of our new album, sent her the new version and she loved it. It sounded like a completely different track, and I love the spontaneity of music in that way.”

On ‘Fire Up’, the add:

“As Londoners with West and South African heritage, we wanted to explore the sounds of dancehall—a massive inspiration for so many UK genres. It also feeds into our concept of Dandyism, highlighting the Windrush generation’s significant but often overlooked impact on that movement. By pairing conscious lyrics with a dancehall beat, we wanted to create something people could dance to while still engaging with a deeper message.”
