Coachella 2021 Cancelled !

Covid-19 has claimed its latest victim as it has been announced that Coachella will not be going ahead this year. The annual SoCal desert festival was scheduled over two weekends in April but the region’s public health officer Dr Cameron Kaiser says it will not go ahead.

He said in a public health order: “If COVID-19 were detected at these festivals, the scope and number of attendees and the nature of the venue would make it infeasible, if not impossible, to track those who may be placed at risk.”

This is the third time Coachella has had its date changed due to the health crisis. The Stagecoach country music festival which is held on the same site as Coachella later in April, has also been cancelled.

This news doesn’t bode well for the live entertainment industry, which already saw Glastonbury get cancelled.
