Iconic rapper Coolio has died at the age of 59.

His longtime manager Jarez Posey told US media the artist was found unresponsive on the bathroom floor while visiting a friend’s house in Los Angeles.

Paramedics believe he may have suffered a heart attack, although the exact cause of his death has yet to be confirmed.

Real name Artis Leon Ivey Jr, Coolio gained international fame for his song Gangsta’s Paradise, which was part of the soundtrack for the Michelle Pfeiffer movie ‘Dangerous Minds’.

The song reached number one on the US Billboard charts staying there for three weeks and earned him a Grammy for best solo rap performance in 1996.

The rapper is also fo fly remembered in the UK coming third in the sixth series of Channel 4’s Celebrity Big Brother in 2009.
