Employee Accidentally Gets Paid 286 Times His Salary & Vanishes

An employee received an unexpected bonus after accidentally getting paid 286 times their original salary.
The story coming out of Chile is that the company accidentally paid him around 165,398,851 Chilean pesos (£148,000) instead of his usually salary of 500,000 pesos (£450).
The man is said to have resigned, took his new found fortune and promptly disappeared with the cash.
To add insult to injury he had allegedly promised his boss that he would return what was overpaid to him before legging it.
According to Chilean financial news website Diario Financiero, Consorcio Industrial de Alimentos (Cial), one of the largest producers of cold cut meats in Chile were unable to contact him, despite trying multiple attempts to call, text, and WhatsApp the man.
“He was informed and clarified that this money did not correspond to the payment of any service,” Chilean legal documents claim, as per Diario Financiero.
The company is now chasing their former employee for misappropriation of funds with the hope of recovering some of the lost money.
