Fera Takes Us Back To The Countryside With A Capsule Built Entirely Around One Of The Original Working Man’s Textiles Of Choice – Corduroy
9 Oct 2024
Made for wading through bogs at dawn and Soho’s finest establishments at dusk, Fera is a love letter to the British outdoors. In recent times the outdoors has become about conquering nature in a lava-repellent jacket that has forty-two pockets. It’s all distances, altitudes and getting through it in record times. But our outdoors is so much more than that. It’s not something to battle
against. It’s a rich tapestry of culture. A place to have a good time.
Fera has this week come through to unveil their brand new capsule. Compiled of three pieces spanning both navy and forest green – the Cord Cider Jacket, Cord Wandle Vest and Cord Cap – the is a trifecta of durable garments sporting a long life expectancy, as worn by farm workers and royalty alike. Each piece carefully designed with timelessness in mind.
“Hidden in a corner of Somerset there is a traditional orchard where they still do it the old way. Modern machinery and chemical sprays have never touched this place. The fruit is plentiful, the grasses full of wildflowers, and the wildlife there thrives. The old man who works the cider press and showed us around was wearing a tattered old corduroy jacket, the cord wale almost beaten flat by years of use. To honour this place and its cider master we have recreated his jacket with our Cord Cider Jacket, an unlined corduroy jacket with three outside pockets and one internal breast pocket.”
Drop two from Fera’s AW24 collection, the Cord Capsule is set to launch Friday 11th October.
