Instagram has decided to roll back its most recent changes to the app following stern criticism from the public and the Kardashian’s no less.

IG head Adam Mosseri revealed the news in an interview with Platformer said Instagram will phase out a test that turned users’ home feeds into a TikTok-like full-screen experience which prioritised its reels video feature and algorithm based recommended posts.

“I am glad we took a risk — if we are not failing every once in a while, we are not thinking big enough or bold enough,” Mosseri was quoted as saying.

“But we definitely need to take a big step back and regroup. When we have learned a lot, then we come back with some sort of new idea or iteration. So we are going to work through that,” he added.

The course correcting comes after Television stars Jenner and Kardashian shared a post to their Instagram stories saying “make Instagram great again”.

“Stop trying to be TikTok. I just want to see cute photos of my friends,” the post said.

Mosseri however made clear that Instagram’s will continue to increasingly cater to video as they seek to wrestle back some control of the social media pie.
