Kanye West Granted Permission To Legally Change His Name To Just “Ye”

Kanye West has legally changed his name to “Ye” after finally receiving approval from a Los Angeles court.
The 44-year-old, has LA Superior Court Judge Michelle Williams to thank, who approved the switch to his nickname meaning he will no longer have a middle or last name.
He first alluded to his plans to change his name to Ye when he tweeted: “Formally known as Kanye West. I am YE.”
However he had already sowed the seeds saying in 2018 to radio host Big Boy, “I believe ‘ye’ is the most commonly used word in the Bible. In the Bible it means you. So, I’m you. And I’m us. It’s us. It went from being Kanye, which means the only one to just Ye, just being a reflection of our good, our bad, our confused – everything. It’s more of a reflection of who we are [as] beings.”
He followed up by naming his eighth studio album in 2018 “Ye”.
The news of Ye’s name change comes just a week after he listed his Wyoming ranch – ironically where he hosted his “Ye” album listening party – and other business properties in the area for $11 million.
