Hackney’s own Kojey Radical, is lending his support to the launch of Hoxton Hall’s Beat Bank drive, a project designed to provide Hackney’s talented young musicians with more samples, beats and instrumentals to remix and rework in the studio.

Determined to help level the artistic playing field, and give back to the Hackney community that helped him on his way up, Kojey Radical selected Hoxton Hall as his first mentee for the Tough As You initiative.

The Dr Martens Tough As You initiative is a mentorship programme that pairs established artists with emerging voices in music.

Spurred on by the recognition of the barriers to creativity he faced himself as an emerging musician, Kojey is calling on the music community to donate.

Hoxton Hall’s current term of emerging musicians will showcase their work at the venue’s annual Sound Out event on 31st March, hosted by Reprezent Radio with performances from Reekzz, Santo, PB, Aaron Anderson and Tonez LDN.

Kojey Radical’s mentorship with Hoxton Hall is one of four emerging music projects being funded and supported by Dr. Martens with the aim to help create a more diverse, inclusive and accessible music industry for the next generation of talent.

Music makers with unused material can support Hackney talent, and fuel a full circle creative platform with their spare tracks, by emailing stems to [email protected].
