Mackenzie Scott Gives Away Another $640M Of Her Divorce Settlement Taking Total $16.5BN

Billionaire philanthropist, author and ex-wife of Amazon founder Jeff Bezos MacKenzie Scott announced that she is giving $640 million of her personal fortune away.

A total of 361 small nonprofits that responded to an open call for applications will receive financial packages.

In a brief note on her website, Scott wrote she was grateful to Lever for Change, the organization that managed the open call, and the evaluators for “their roles in creating this pathway to support for people working to improve access to foundational resources in their communities. They are vital agents of change.”

Scott’s hefty donation comes weeks after Elon Musk slammed her charity work.

In a now-deleted X post on March 6 Musk took a sly dig at Scott saying, “Super rich ex-wives who hate their former spouse’ should filed be listed among ‘Reasons that Western Civilization died,”

Since her 2019 divorce Scott has given away $16.5 billion from the fortune she came into.
