A man posing as a security guard tricked staff at a south London bank into handing over £150k.

The daring thief reportedly claimed to be a G4S security guard dressed in similar uniform, armed only with a fake ID.

The man was handed six boxes of cash containing £25,000 each out of the Santander branch in Brixton.

Staff only realised something was off when the guard didn’t come back in to sign for the money transfer by which time he had already made off with the loot.

They immediately called G4S who said there was no collection due. Santander confirmed an investigation is under way.

Detectives from the Met’s Flying Squad are investigating.
