Manchester City to name Etihad North Stand after Pep Guardiola
22 May 2026
Manchester City will name the North Stand of the Etihad Stadium after Pep Guardiola, celebrating his historic tenure with the club.
It was announced earlier today that at the end of this season, Guardiola will step down from his role as manager, marking the end of his near-ten year tenure at the club.
Guardiola has led City to 17 major trophies, including six Premier League titles and a Champions League victory in 10 top-flight seasons in charge.
The 55-year-old’s final game will be against Aston Villa at the Etihad Stadium.
“Don’t ask me the reasons I’m leaving,” said Guardiola. “There is no reason, but deep inside, I know it’s my time. Nothing is eternal, if it was, I would be here. Eternal will be the feeling, the people, the memories, the love I have for my Manchester City.”
The Pep Guardiola Srand will be open to supporters from this weekend, which will also feature a presentation that bids farewell to an icon of Manchester City.
