Manchester-hailing rapper Meekz announced forthcoming and long-awaited mixtape ‘Respect The Come Up’, a striking ten track project set for release on Friday 18th November 2022 via Neighbourhood Recordings. The announcement follows his highly-anticipated Daily Duppy Freestyle, out now on GRM Daily. Witty punchlines combined with his dextrous flow, the freestyle is Meekz back in his element. Packed with impressible wordplay, Meekz runs through the who’s who of UK and US rap figures, representing his city of Manchester and its musical legacy.

‘Respect The Come Up’ is a confident and defining return to music. Meekz’s impeccable tone and compelling lyricism – combined with his unique Mancunian lingo – brings listeners further into his world, depicting his life with a clarity and emotion that only real rap can provide. The project delivers vivid accounts of Meekz’s trajectory in life and in music, but above all else it’s a moment of reflection. It’s a look back on exactly how far he has come, centred on the finer details of his Manchster upbringing to becoming one of the most respected rappers in the UK. Presenting a whole new side to his craft, this mixtape has it all.

Eagle-eyed fans will notice the ‘Respect The Come Up’ artwork, chronicling his rise since 2019 offering ‘6 Figures’ and thrilling Top 40 debut mixtape, Can’t Stop Won’t Stop. The project was as loud a debut as they come, making his influences clear and recognising the work of 90s Rap and Hip Hop greats. Filled with uncompromising rap anthems, Meekz received a tsunami of support from the streets and beyond which in turn, readied him for an impressive next twelve months.

Mixtape title track ‘Respect The Come Up’ was released in 2021, along with the KC Locke-directed visual which saw Meekz take to the skies of London, and later nominated for Video Of The Year at the GRM Daily Rated Awards. That summer Meekz joined rap royalty in an all-star cast of Giggs, Fredo and Ghetts on Dave’s ‘In The Fire’, months later graduating to the O2 Stage for the 2022 BRIT Awards, delivering a monumental live TV performance. Meekz took the stage once again, this time performing for 70,000 fans across the UK for Dave’s We’re Alone In This Together arena tour.

With new music on the horizon, Meekz is back and cannot be ignored.
