Mizuno Sportstyle have unveiled the MG4 Silhouette, paying homage to legendary designer Tuan Lee.

Designed by Tuan Lee as a complementary silhouette to the elevated Y2K runner range, the MG4 becomes part of the everyday rhythm of contemporary urban life. The MG4 isn’t a new invention; it’s a reworked classic. Now, Mizuno returns to Lee’s archive, re-working and re-releasing a classic silhouette that was built decades ago. This is a continuation of Mizuno’s “Design Golden Age” where Lee sat within Mizuno’s design studio to create silhouettes that would go on to define an era.

The story of the MG4 unfolds in Amsterdam, at the peak of summer, where the campaign captures the bustling rhythm of the city. Friends gathering together after work, bikes replacing public transport, a drift between industrial spaces. This campaign is less about performance and more about presence – tapping into youth culture that lights a spark within Amsterdam. Such imagery mirrors the MG4 as part of the everyday rhythm of contemporary urban life.

Two silhouettes make up the MG4 launch – “OG” and “Tech” – each arriving in two colourways. Leaning into the silhouette’s classic codes, the “OG”, arriving in Cloudscape / Royal Lilac / Galaxy Silver and White / Artisan Gold / Galaxy Silver. Both pairs are finished with a semi-clear detail, which is a direct nod to the archival tooling that first put the silhouette on the map.

Taking a sleeker, more directional turn on the same DNA, “Tech” is offered in two colourways, the first being a blacked-out Black / Iron Gate / Metallic Grey, and the second being a metallic Foggy Dew / Harbor Mist / Silver, with the latter finished with a grey midsole.

Whilst the “OG” pays homage to the nostalgia, “Tech” innovates the silhouette forward, proving Lee’s original design language still holds up through a more elevated finish.
