Nigerian Alté Artist Tim Lyre Drops Amapiano Inspired Track ‘Lock In’ Featuring BOJ

Nigerian alté sensation Tim Lyre has teamed up with BOJ over shimmering Amapiano keys for his newest single, ‘Lock In’.

From the moment it kicks off, Tim Lyre paints a picture of a heart hopelessly smitten, his confident flow peppered with playful nods to Yoruba culture. With lyrics such as “Everything that I touch Ina Idan,” for instance: a bold boast that everything he touches ignites like magic and flame.

The chorus is as hypnotic as the waistline of his muse, “On yi bo, On yi lo” she’s twisting in, she’s twisting out over and over until you’re hooked. BOJ follows with an effortlessly smooth verse, echoing Lyre’s sentiments. Together, they prove love on the dancefloor is more than alive, it’s on fire, fuelled by the pulsing energy of the gbedu (big drums).

‘Lock In’ is a masterclass in chemistry and rhythm, and it’s begging to soundtrack your next night out. The gorgeous saxophones and soaring violins elevate the track, signalling the expansive, refined direction he’s taking heading into the release of forthcoming album SPIRAL on 26th June. 

The release of the album will be followed by Tim’s London headline show, later this September at the legendary Camden Assembly Hall.
