Officially The Hottest Day In UK History As Temperature Exceeds 40°C

Tuesday July 19th has etched itself into history as it has been officially crowned the hottest day in UK ever.

Heathrow recorded a temperature of 40.2C, topping the previous record of 38.7C in Cambridge in July 2019.

Some forecaster’s have warned that the heat should reach as high as 42C today.

The Met Office issued a red extreme heat warning covering much of central, northern, and south-east England. Health authorities urged people to take precautions, including staying indoors and drinking plenty of water.
