ONEFOUR Netflix Documentary Showcases Australian Drill
31 Oct 2023
Australian Drill pioneers ONEFOUR are telling their story on a new Netflix documentary, ‘ONEFOUR: Against All Odds’. The documentary demonstrates the impact the group has already had on Australian music, whilst also showing the hardships they have found themselves in due to their relationship with the New South Wales police task force.
Comprised of J Emz, Spenny, YP, Lekks and Celly, ONEFOUR have made Drill their own in Australia thanks to hits such as ‘Spot The Difference’ and ‘The Message’. The group are of Samoan heritage and come from the Mt Druitt suburb of Sydney, overcoming their circumstances and landing songs with heavy hitters Headie One and Tion Wayne along the way.
The show documents ONEFOUR’s story as well as demonstrating the difficult relationship between their music and the police. Much like the archaic regulations we have in the UK regarding Drill music inciting violence, ONEFOUR have also been affected by these laws in Australia, with their family homes being raided and their first national tour being cancelled.
‘ONEFOUR: Against All Odds’ is available now on Netflix.
