Brentford vs West Ham

https://youtu.be/ac4SaRudG2I?si=Y9Fazyo4IzASo9dk

Brentford have managed to tread water well so far this season without star man Ivan Toney, as evidenced by their upset of Chelsea last weekend. Wissa and Mbeumo have helped them remain a threat on the counter, whilst defensively Thomas Frank’s side have been resolute for the most part.

West Ham have endured a slump in form in the Premier League but will be buoyed by their routine win against Arsenal in the Carabao cup. Jarrod Bowen is still on fire, and summer signing Mohammed Kudus is settling in nicely.

I expect this London derby to be an entertaining one with goals for both sides. I do however feel as if there is not much to separate the two and the fixture will end with the spoils shared. – Joe

Kwoli: West Ham will be on a high off the back of the Arsenal game. They’re a solid team but Brentford are pretty even with them this season. See a draw on the cards.

Score Predictions:

  • Brentford 2-2 West Ham – Joe
  • Brentford 1-1 West Ham -Kwoli

Luton vs Liverpool

The Hatters have surprised a lot of Premier League fans this season thanks to their direct style and never say die attitude. Luton have managed to keep the majority of their games close and the tight atmosphere of Kenilworth Road definitely plays into their hands.

After the terrible news surrounding Luis Diaz over the past few days, Liverpool will have to galvanise themselves and dig deep for a win in this one due to his assumed absence. Darwin Nunez stepped up to the plate in midweek against Bournemouth and the mercurial Uruguayan should have a chance to produce something similar on Sunday.

I expect a valiant performance from the home side but the quality that Liverpool possess should be enough for the away team to take all three points back to Merseyside. – Joe

Kwoli: Should be an easy win for the Kop

Score Predictions:

  • Luton 1-3 Liverpool – Joe
  • Luton 0-3 Liverpool – Kwoli

Fulham vs Manchester United

At Craven Cottage, two sides find themselves below where they expected at the start of the season. Fulham have dropped off a bit with 1 win in their last five. While a draw with Brighton is a solid result, the lack of goals is becoming a problem for the London side. The strikers need to step up to get this team in the top half of the table again.

Manchester United meanwhile is very much full of doom and gloom. After back-to-back 3-0 thrashings by Manchester City and then Newcastle in the Cup, the exit door is looming for Erik ten Haag. While they have 3 wins in their last 5 league games, they haven’t looked convincing defensively or in attack.

The lack of quality and desire from a talented group of players is holding this great club back. The Red Devils very much need this win after a miserable week and while they’ll get it, it won’t be convincing but this result feels like it will only delay the inevitable. – Tom

Kwoli: United are a bit of a lost team of late. You can’t rely on them to show up or deliver as they should nowadays. Fulham are not an easy team. I see another Utd upset.

Score Predictions:

  • Fulham 1-2 Manchester United – Tom
  • Fulham 1-0 Mancehster United – Kwoli

Tottenham vs Chelsea

With Chelsea’s inconsistency so far this season, yet Tottenham’s great run so far – this one is a difficult one to lay down a prediction for. We all know Chelsea are capable of a performance against a team – that, they showcased against Arsenal. However, against a side that look so brimmed full of confidence early on into the season, I find it hard to believe they’ll be able to replicate such a performance again.

‘Ange-ball’ seems to be in full effect right now, and their game style is key. High pressing and creative freedom has gone hand in hand with their success so far this season. If they can work the ball to creative maestro James Maddison then the game will without a doubt open up in their favour. Should Robert Sanchez start, I can see one or two mistakes on his part occur as well as a shaky Chelsea defence – therefore I have to opt for a Spurs win. – Harvey

Kwoli: I do not like that Spurs are top of the league. I do not like Chelsea. I choose the lesser evil however.

Score Predictions:

  • Tottenham 2-0 Chelsea – Harvey
  • Tottenham 0-1 Chelsea – Kwoli

Newcastle vs Arsenal

While Newcastle comfortably returned to winning ways during the week, title hopefuls Arsenal should prove a much tougher task this weekend. The Magpies will be relishing the chance to hand Arsenal their first league defeat of the season but will be without a lot of key players. Eddie Howe has built a team that has both industry and potency but with most of the potency injured I’m not sure how much can be expected from the Toon on Saturday.

With the standards Arteta has tried to set no doubt he’ll be reeling over the Gunners cup exit on Wednesday. No better way to make up for it than a big win away against one of the league’s better sides right? Arsenal are way more defensive minded and not nearly as cavalier as last season and in games like this it should serve them well. With Jesus out for some weeks Nketiah will have to hope he saved enough goals for this match and the few following. Don’t expect a blockbuster. Usually on a wet and windy evening up north you’d expect this to only go one way but I’m backing Arsenal to sneak a result.

Kwoli: Don’t see a clean sheet for either. Arsenal without Jesus and Partey is a worry but there is enough quality and talent in the squad to squeeze out a win. Newcastle are not a weak team by any means. Beat Utd but that’s nothing to brag about these days. Should be an exciting game. – Jesse

Score Predictions:

  • Newcastle 0-1 Arsenal – Jesse
  • Newcastle 2-3 Arsenal – Kwoli

Everton vs Brighton

Despite a potential points deduction, Everton have picked themselves up and a narrow win over West Ham was a great result. Dominic Calvert-Lewin is returning to form with 4 goals so far this season. I’m still not entirely convinced by their defence, but Jordan Pickford is the right man between the sticks for the Toffees.

Brighton are in a bad run of form right now. Despite a historic win over Ajax in the Europa League, they are without a win in 4 league games. Although it was a difficult run of fixtures, drawing 1-1 with Fulham is poor from a European side and the congested fixture list may be hurting this squad. But with players like Mitoma, Fati, Ferguson, and Pedro up front, you should get goals.

The Albion must get back to form at some point and I think this will be that game. I’m expecting a goal fest with both sides proving attacking flair, but openness at the back. However, the Seagulls have more quality and that will get them the win here. – Tom

Kwoli: Everton are not the mid table warriors they used to be and Brighton have established themselves to be able to tussle with the best. I see a dominant win for the Seagulls

Score Predictions:

  • Everton 2-4 Brighton – Tom
  • Everton 0-3 Brighton – Kwoli

Nottingham Forest vs Aston Villa

Sunday afternoon sees Nottingham host Aston Villa – a team that some would argue are majorly overachieving this season. What Unai Emery done with Villa is certainly not going unnoticed, and now they look like one of the toughest sides to face in the Premier League. I envision this will be a tough test for Nottingham Forest as well how things stand. Forest haven’t won in their last six games, whereas Villa haven’t lost in their last seven games in the league – a great reflection of both teams current form.

However, I can definitely see Forest being up for this one, eager to turn their poor form around. I think they’ll score, but believe that Aston Villa will be too organised and motivated by their push into the Champion’s league spots to be distracted from the main task at hand here. – Harvey

Kwoli: Emi Martinez OG. Please.

Score Predictions:

  • Forest 1-3 Villa– Harvey
  • Forest 1-0 Villa – Kwoli

Sheffield United vs Wolves

It’s hard to see where or how Sheffield United can get a result. Over the past few years we’ve seen promoted teams really hold their own when coming up but the Blades just are not of the level. Being hard to beat is the key to survival and Paul Heckingbottom’s men are quite frankly the opposite.

Wolves are no doubt a well coached side with a good amount of talent across the team. However it was Pedro Neto who made them tick and his injury will no doubt make things harder for them going forward. However there is no better side to get your other attackers firing again than rock bottom Sheffield United. Expect Wolves to add another three points as they further distance themselves from the relegation pack. – Jesse

Kwoli: Sheffield can’t survive the prem either. Wolves will tear them apart.

Score Predictions:

  • Sheffield 1-2 Woves – Jesse
  • Sheffield 0-2 Wolves – Kwoli
