An American invasion seems to be fully on the way with another popular US fast food restaurant following Wendy’s and crossing the pond. This time fried chicken chain Popeyes has confirmed they will be launching a UK chain in 2021.

Popeyes UK co-founder, Elias Diaz Sese, said he expects the rollout to create hundreds of new jobs, claiming , “It’s the right time for us to enter the UK market. Everybody needs a little joy right now.”

He elaborated saying: “We’ve already got a great leadership team in place, are hiring throughout the business, and have made great progress in preparing for launch.”

“It allows us to contribute in hardship moments for the country by creating hundreds of career opportunities. We truly aspire to become an employer of reference for big-hearted talent through care, service and supporting the neighbourhoods in which we operate.”

Soon the UK will be able to treat it self to Popeyes chicken sandwich, wings, tenders, nuggets, and legs just like Switzerland and Spain. But the chain founded in 1972 isn’t just limited to chicken. You can also find popcorn shrimp and a variety of sides like mashed potatoes with gravy, Cajun fries, Cajun rice, green beans, and biscuits on their menu.
