Premier League footballer arrested over alleged child sex offences

A Premier League footballer has been arrested on suspicion of child sex offences.

At present the players identity has not been revealed due to legal reasons however what we do know is that he is 31-years-old and a regular at international level.

Greater Manchester Police released a statement following the raiding of the house, arrest and subsequent release on police bail of the suspect:

“Officers arrested a 31-year-old man on Friday 16 July 2021 on suspicion of child sex offences. He is on police bail pending further enquiries.”

The players club which remains unnamed at this time, released a statement to the Mirror saying:

“The club can confirm it has suspended a first-team player pending a police investigation. The club will continue to support the authorities with their inquiries and will not be making any further statement at this time.”
