Ten games left in the Premier League season and with a huge top of the table on the horizon on Sunday, the race for the title as well as the drop is set to go down to the wire. Here are our predictions ahead of this weekend’s games:

Manchester United vs Everton

After losing in the Manchester derby last week, the pressure is mounting on Erik Ten Hag as rumours swirl about his future in the summer. His performances against the better sides in the Premier League haven’t been good enough and his squad lacks both a cutting edge and defensive stability.

Old Trafford is not the fortress it once was and Everton will arrive in Manchester unphased by the task at hand. Sean Dyche teams are always well drilled and they will look to frustrate the home side for as long as possible.

If the Toffees had any real firepower up front I would back them to cause an upset. However, as each game gets more crucial for Ten Hag’s hopes of survival I think the home team will just about sneak this one.

Score Prediction: Manchester United 2-1 Everton

Bournemouth vs Sheffield United

Sheffield United are rapidly proving to be one of the worst teams the Premier League has ever seen. The Blades are shipping so many goals at Bramall Lane that it is difficult to understand why their home support even bother going if they end up leaving after 30 minutes.

If Chris Wilder has any chance of beating the drop he will need a victory against a Bournemouth side who secured their first Premier League win of 2024 last week. Sheffield’s away form is slightly better than their home output but the Cherries will see this as an opportunity to build momentum.

If an early goal arrives for Bournemouth it could turn into a long afternoon for the Blades. Andoni Iraola’s team are quick to pounce on defensive errors and there could be plenty to feast on against a leaky back line.

Score Prediction: Bournemouth 3-1 Sheffield United

Crystal Palace vs Luton

This should be an exciting fixture as Luton travel to Selhurst Park in desperate need for a win. Rob Edwards and Luton have earned a lot of plaudits this season thanks to their valiant performances and direct approach, but this hasn’t been quite enough to get them over the line in recent weeks.

Palace on the other hand gave a decent account of themselves at Spurs last weekend as new man Oliver Glasner attempts to make his mark at his new club. Star man Eberechi Eze looks set to be available for the full 90 which could be a real difference maker for the home side.

Luton showed against Villa last week that they are an outfit who can never be written off, and I back them to take the game to Palace and cause them problems. The lack of firepower for the Eagles always worries me and I can see this one ending as a stalemate.

Score Prediction: Crystal Palace 1-1 Luton

Wolves vs Fulham

Two sides who have punched above their weight this season, this game should see some dynamic, attractive football on display throughout. Gary O’Neil has impressed in his first season at Molineux and looks set to be awarded a new deal for his efforts.

Marco Silva meanwhile has got his team purring, easily defeating Brighton last weekend as well as beating Manchester United at Old Trafford recently. Rodrigo Muniz has been a revelation up top while former Wolves man Adama Traore has found his form in the back end of the season.

I expect a decent battle between these two with chances at both ends. I think both teams will get on the scoresheet with the spoils being shared in the end.

Score Prediction: Wolves 2-2 Fulham

Arsenal vs Brentford

The Gunners have been in imperious league form since the start of 2024, comfortably dispatching each side they have been faced in recent weeks by playing free flowing football as Kai Havertz has started to find his feet in an Arsenal shirt. Bukayo Saka has been excellently efficient while the midfield duo of Rice and Odegaard is undoubtedly one of the best in the league, if not the world.

Saturday evening sees them come up against familiar foes Brentford, who have managed to wind Arsenal up in the past. There is no doubt both Neal Maupay and Ivan Toney will be relishing their chance to frustrate the home side, but the Bees’ injury woes mean that they will be huge underdogs for this one.

With David Raya ineligible, Aaron Ramsdale looks set to return in goal for the Gunners which could give Thomas Frank’s team a glimmer of hope. However, I still believe Arsenal should have more than enough to carry on their sensational run of form.

Score Prediction: Arsenal 3-1 Brentford

Aston Villa vs Tottenham

Battling for the Champions League places,  both of these sides have earned plaudits for their front foot approach this season. Ollie Watkins and Leon Bailey have been stand outs for Villa, who have also found a star in the form of Douglas Luiz in midfield.

Tottenham meanwhile will be delighted that Heung-Min Son is back in the fold for them with Richarlison now on the sidelines. Both Ange Postecoglou and Unai Emery like to play an exceptionally high back line so it will be interesting to see how these two match up.

I expect a game with plenty of chances as both teams try and exploit the approach of the other. Villa have been excellent at home but I think Spurs may edge this one.

Score Prediction: Aston Villa 2-3 Spurs

Brighton vs Nottingham Forest

These are two teams in dire need of a victory for contrasting reasons. Brighton look set to crash out of the Europa League after losing 4-0 to Roma midweek, while they have taken their eye off the ball in the league as their form has dipped drastically.

Forest meanwhile have looked a threat under Nuno since he has come in but have struggled to turn their chances into results. A sickening loss at the death against Liverpool last week means that they are in serious danger of relegation and need to get some points in the board quickly if they want to avoid the drop.

Brighton look set for mid table mediocrity this season but if Roberto De Zerbi wants a big summer move he needs to end the campaign in style. I expect the Seagulls to stop the rot and pick up all three points at the Amex.

Score Prediction: Brighton 2-1 Nottingham Forest

West Ham vs Burnley

West Ham got their campaign back on track with a last gasp victory at Everton last time out, yet a midweek loss to Freiburg may have dampened spirits slightly. With Lucas Paqueta back in the team the Hammers are a different beast offensively and his link up play with Jarrod Bowen can be lethal.

Burnley on the other hand are having a dismal season. Vincent Kompany still has the backing of both fans and board at Turf Moor but his side have faltered at almost every hurdle thanks to a stubborn, possession based approach.

I think the home side will win this one comfortably and put another nail in the coffin for the Clarets. Despite a lot of investment in the summer Burnley don’t have the Premier League personnel required to play their style of football and I believe West Ham will pick them off with relative ease.

Score Prediction: West Ham 3-0 Burnley

Liverpool vs Manchester City

The biggest fixture of the weekend, these two titans of Premier League football face off in a game that has huge ramifications for the title race. In what could be the last game between Jurgen Klopp and Pep Guardiola, a win for either side would probably make them favourites to win it all, while Arsenal would be put in the driver’s seat if the spoils are shared.

Liverpool will be welcoming back Mo Salah while the mercurial Darwin Nunez seems to be peaking at the right time. The Reds however still have injury concerns across their whole team which could swing the advantage back to city, who always look at the top of their game as we reach the business end of the season.

If Salah had played a couple of full games in the build up to this one I think Liverpool would have more of a chance to seal victory. However, with the form that City find themselves in and the personnel they can call upon in every position, I back them to silence the Anfield crowd and come away with all three points.

Score Prediction: Liverpool 1-3 Manchester City

Chelsea vs Newcastle

Monday night football sees two teams with big budgets who have failed to live up to expectations this season. Both managers will feel the pressure mounting if they are unable to secure a result here.

Eddie Howe may feel hard done by in his case given how injuries have decimated his squad. The Magpies did put in a solid performance last time out against Wolves and Anthony Gordon has been sensational for the Toon Army all season.

Chelsea on the other hand just haven’t got anything going in the league and see themselves languishing in mid table. Their signings, however talented they are, have struggled to gel and Mauricio Pochettino hasn’t inspired them to new heights.

Chelsea however do get up for the big games and I can see this one being a tasty affair. I can see goals at both ends with the home side just having enough.

Score Prediction: Chelsea 2-1 Newcastle
