The Premier League ended matchday 8 with a statement 3-0 defeat for Arsenal at home to Aston Villa. 2 goals from Ollie Watkins and a forced OG by Bukayo Saka was the difference between the two teams, with Arsenal again struggling to create chances. Man City Vs Liverpool is always an intense fixture and it threatened to also be an entertaining one during the first 45 minutes. Gabriel Jesus cancelled out a Mohamed Salah penalty with a Bergkamp-esque goal before a controversial VAR decision which ultimately had no consequence as Kevin De Bruyne missed from the spot. The 2nd half saw both teams came out lacking the same enthusiasm they showed in the 1st half and the game ended 1-1.

With Ole’s job as Manchester United manager on the line (once again) his team pulled through for him winning 3-1 win away to Everton. The last big story of the weekend was Ademola Lookmans huge paneka penalty miss. With the final kick of the game he should of earned a point for relegation candidates Fulham agaisnt a dominant West Ham side.

Apart from the two 4-1 wins for Crystal Palace and Chelsea respectively, the rest of the games were a collection of routine wins and just the one goalless draw.

Results: Brighton 0-0 Burnley, Southampton 2-0 Newcastle, Manchester Uinted 3-1 Everton, Crystal Palace 4-1 Leeds United, Chelsea 4-1 Sheffield United, West Ham 1-0 Fulham, Spurs 1-0 West Brom, Leicester 1-0 Wolves, Man City 1-1 Liverpool, Aston Villa 3-0 Arsenal.
