Yet again the biggest story of this weeks Premier League is Arsenal, who’s death spiral into obscurity reaches even further depths under Mikel Arteta. The current Gunners team are history makers, breaking a trio half century old streaks losing at home to Leicester for the first time since 1973, Wolves since 1979 and Burnley since 1974. To add salt to the wounds the 1-0 defeat was courtesy of an OG by captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang which kept Arsenal locked in at 15th place 12 games into the season.

What should of been the most exciting game of the weekend reneged on that promise as Manchester United and Manchester City dulled each other in a goalless draw. The dynamic duo of Kane and Son made their weekly scoresheet appearances but this time were unable to get more than a point against South Londoner’s Crystal Palace thanks to heroics from goalkeeper Vicente Guaita.

Southampton and Leicester both cruised to 3-0 wins on Sunday as they cooly dispatched relegation zone rooted Sheffield United and the ever inconsistent Brighton. Those wins take them above Chelsea to 4th and 3rd place who lost away to Everton 1-0 at Goodison Park.

Results: Leeds 1-2 West Ham, Wolves 0-1 Aston Villa, Newcastle 2-1 West Brom, Man Utd 0-0 Man City, Everton 1-0 Chelsea, Southampton 3-0 Sheffield Utd, Palace 1-1 Spurs, Fulham 1-1 Liverpool, Leicester 3-0 Brighton, Arsenal 0-1 Burnley.
