Primavera Sound Barcelona Highlights The Catalan Music Ecosystem At Primavera Pro
19 May 2025
At a key moment for the Catalan music scene, Primavera Sound Barcelona is once again putting the spotlight on local talent with a programme that vindicates the stylistic and creative diversity that flourishes in the territory. From 2nd to 8th June, the festival will host a line-up of artists that reflect the wealth of the Catalan music scene. In parallel to a line-up headed by big international names, Primavera Sound Barcelona also reaffirms its commitment to the consolidation and global projection of local proposals.
In the changing soundscape of Catalonia, young and established voices coexist, giving shape to a scene as diverse as it is unique. Amaia returns to Primavera Sound with her most ambitious proposal to date. The Barcelona-based, Pamplona-born artist will return to the stage that hosted her first concert, with a live performance that promises to mark a new turning point in her career. Also, from the electronic scene, John Talabot, one of the most influential figures in Catalan clubbing, will share the booth for a long-awaited back-to-back with Danish DJ Justin.
The programme also features projects that cross territories and scenes. From the edgy, captivating synth-punk of Dame Area to the emotional indie of Heal and psychedelic pop from the two voices of Red Stamp, the new band of Núria Graham and the Irish artist Aoife Nessa Frances. Add to this the love for Jamaican sounds of Belén Natalí, who defies any algorithm that tries to define her. And Ciutat, the duo formed by JP Sunshine and Guim -members of the Mainline collective-, who take a step away from the club with a more chill sound without giving up dancing.
The arcade-punk of sistema de entretenimiento, the unfiltered punk humour of Tetas Frías and the ultra-digital and provocative pop of Llum expand a range that goes from the most incendiary live performance to the most intimate format. They are joined by Huir, the two-headed monster formed by Ana of the Head and David Solazo, and Maig, who leads the new wave of R&B in Catalan. As an experience that makes more sense in communion, La Casa Azul: more pop than pop itself, a modern classic that transforms each concert into a shared celebration. And this is just a sample of the Catalan musical proposals that will claim their place in the programme of the festival, which will soon add new stages that will focus on the soundtrack of Catalonia.
the event intensifies on Wednesday 4th June at 6:30 pm at the Centre de Cultura Contemporània de Barcelona (CCCB) with the opening day of Primavera Pro, organised by Catalan Arts, the internationalisation brand of the Institut Català de les Empreses Culturals (ICEC) of the Department of Culture of the Generalitat de Catalunya.
