Prince Phillip Passes At Age 99

Prince Phillip Duke of Edinburgh has died just two months shy of his 100th birthday.

In a statement released by the Royal Family they announced his passing saying :

“It is with deep sorrow that Her Majesty The Queen announces the death of her beloved husband, His Royal Highness The Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh.

His Royal Highness passed away peacefully this morning at Windsor Castle.

The Royal Family join with people around the world in mourning his loss”.

Phillip who had, had a series of health complications recently his death was said to be peaceful. He retired in 2017 from official royal duties after more than 20,000 solo public engagements, only occasionally stepping out to support the Queen for big events.

Although not confirmed yet, he will most likely be given a royal ceremonial funeral rather than a state funeral, in line with his wishes.
