Following the success of Twitter’s latest “fleets” feature, it looks like Spotify wants in on the fun.

The streaming service has announced the arrival of story-like features through running trials on select playlists, such as Christmas Hits and the playlist for Megan Thee Stallion’s debut album – Good News.

The new stories will be similar to those we’ve seen before via Snapchat, Instagram and most recently Twitter.

The function will run by a swipe-through motion that is set to include exclusive content from artists explaining the concept behind their songs. As well as additional fun music-oriented visuals.

However the platforms users will not be able to do this to their own playlists, as it stands.

In a statement to Endgadget Spotify shared how it aims to use these new functions to improve the platform: “Some of those tests end up paving the path for our broader user experience and others serve only as an important learning. We have no further news to share on future plans at this time,” a spokesperson said.
