Test Positive For Covid And You Might Be Able To Collect £500 From The Government

The UK government is said to be considering an audacious plan which will see everyone who test positive for covid receive £500.
Research suggested that only 17% of people with symptoms come forward to get a test because they’ve they feared they would lose income if they had to stop working.
The plan would cost the government an estimated £2bn a month according to a leaked 16-page document by the Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC).
Cabinet minister George Eustice told Sky News that “no decisions have been made on this” but did stress that “This is a dynamic fast-moving situation with the pandemic. We’re always keeping multiple policies under review.”
Rustics also acknowledged that there is already a similar plan currently in place saying: “Thats why we’ve always had a £500 payment for those who qualify for certain benefits”. But this new stance outlined in the leaked document would mean “Anyone who tested positive for coronavirus irrespective of their age, employment status or ability to work from home, would be eligible for a TTSP (Test and Trace Support Payment).”
