The BRIT Awards: Charli xcx Wins Five Awards, Ezra Collective, Raye and Stormzy Also Take Home BRIT’s

The BRIT Awards 2025 with Mastercard was back for another year on Saturday night, live from The O2 arena in London in front of a live audience of music fans, music industry guests and BRIT School students.
A elebration of the British and international artists that made the most impact in the last twelve months, this year’s awards were once again on a primetime Saturday night slot, broadcast exclusively on ITV1 and ITVX, and streamed on YouTube for fans outside of the UK.
Hosted by Jack Whitehall, at the helm for a fifth time to lead viewers at home and the arena audience through 16 awards presentations and eight live performances, the biggest night in British music did not disappoint, with recongition and celebration of an amazing year put into action.
There’s no denying that Charli xcx dominated the music industry over the 2024, and the BRIT Awards were sure to honour her musical and cultural impact over this period. Taking home five BRIT Awards’, she won Mastercard Album of the Year for BRAT, Artist of the Year, Song of the Year with Mastercard (for ‘Guess featuring Billie Eilish’), the fan-voted Dance Act and BRITs Songwriter of the Year, which had been pre-announced earlier in the week.
Amongst other awards wins on the night, Ezra Collective took home Group Of The Year, Myles Smith took home BRITs Rising Star, Stormzy won Best Hip/Hop/Grime act and Raye took home Best R&B act.

Opening the show in style, Sabrina Carpenter provided a spectacular two-song performance of ‘Espresso’ and ‘Bad Chem’, who later went on the collect the award for BRITS Global Sucess award, in recognition of her phenomenal chart dominating success in the UK this year, holding the Official UK Charts #1 position for a combined 21 weeks in 2024.
A stacked lineup of performances throughout the night saw Teddy Swims, Lola Young, Sam Fender, Ezra Collective with Jorja Smith, Myles Smith, The Last Dinner Party and Jade all showcase their breathtaking talent, a true celebration of the music that has captivated British audiences over the last year.
