Universal Studios Announces Plans To Open New Theme Park In The UK

Universal Studios has announced plans to open a new theme park attraction in the UK after acquiring a piece of land just outside of London.

The land touted for the would be resort is in Bedford, about 45 minutes outside of London, and in close proximity to Luton Airport.

“We recently acquired land in Bedford and are at the early stages of exploring its feasibility for a potential park and resort at this site. It will be many months before we are ready to make a decision to proceed and we look forward to engaging with all relevant stakeholders and the local community,” said a spokesperson for Universal Destinations & Experiences.

The creative content which will be headed up by Universal Creative, the design arm of the theme park division, has not yet been determined the for the potential U.K. theme park.

Universal Studios currently own theme parks in Hollywood, Florida, Japan, Singapore and China.
