Today marks the day that would be Tupac Shakur’s 45th birthday. The rap legend still lives on since his passing due to his injuries in shooting in Las Vegas on September 13th 1996 at the age of 25.
In commemoration to him and all he’s done, The City of Oakland declared today was ‘Tupac Shakur Day’. The confirmation from city officials was received yesterday that June 16 will officially be a day to honour the West Coast legend. Mayor Libby Schaaf made the official declaration.
LeRoy McCarthy, who started a petition to name an intersection in Brooklyn, New York Christopher Wallace Way after The Notorious B.I.G., he was involved in the creation of the Tupac memorial. Incidentally, the teaser for Tupac’s biopic ‘All Eyez on Me’ has also came out today.
