Juls & Projexx – Junction : An MM Review
18 August 2026

Last Friday, Ghana and Jamaica came together to provide fans with a collaborative project – Junction. Juls & Projexx fused their rich cultural influences to create an album which certainly feels like summer.
Juls is a widely recognised producer and all-round music maestro who sits on an impressive number of memorable hits and a Grammy nomination. Projexx is a well-known, talented dancehall artist with several popular tracks and a rapidly growing fanbase. It is no surprise that the pair have joined forces to offer their collective talent to the music scene.
Junction blends hiplife beats with dancehall sounds, creating a colourful 9 track production. Contributions from an array of carefully chosen artists from the Afrobeats and Dancehall genre fit in well, giving each track its own individuality.
Boj brings his alternative afrobeat flair to Rock, a sultry track describing a romantic connection. Projexx and Boj’s voices mesh well, producing a vibe that lingers before fading out to make way for a smooth transition to the next song.

Cutlass is a hard-hitting track with a heavy, continuous beat that builds in intensity. Pa Salieu raps with cadence which leaves the listener with healthy anticipation for each lyric. This gives a different feel to the album, breaking it up nicely for variation – there truly is a track for everyone on this project.
On Trust Issues, Projexx flexes his lyrical ability with a catchy hook that would be perfect for a party. Although the song is fast in tempo, Tay Iwar brings a relaxed softness with his delicate, almost airy vocals.
The album concludes with Believe. Here, Projexx reflects on his life – speaking on his triumphs and setbacks. This ties up the album well, leaving us with some encouragement as he sings – “better believe in yourself.”
Junction takes us on a musical journey across cultures, proving the beauty that can come out of collaboration – certainly worth a listen.
