Demae Unveils ‘Don’t Play The Fool’ Single

London artist Demae has returned with her latest single, ‘Don’t Play The Fool’. The track has been accompanied by a slick visual directed by Ivor Lawson-Adamah.

The new release showcases her talents as she taps in to a neo-soul, contemporary R&B sound that effortlessly suits her. This follows a strong string of singles that Demae has dropped this year, including ‘Ain’t Easy’, and ‘Millionaire’.

Speaking on the track, the artist states:

“Don’t Play the Fool’ was actually one of the first instrumentals Erik Bodin (of Little Dragon) sent me before we started working together in Sweden. I instantly connected with the bassline and that strong, shimmering jingle melody in the background. As always with most of my music, it draws from my own recent experiences. I think this track is a reminder to be kind, but not at the expense of yourself. Stay grounded, and don’t let anyone walk over you… Don’t get played !”

Music video director Ivor Lawson-Adamah added:

“The approach for this visual was to create some kind of visual abstraction about the process of introspection, all wrapped in a surreal and colourful bow. Sometimes we cast out our line, seeking out answers or solutions but often we only have ourselves to turn to.”
