Lisa Mercedez has just released the visuals for her latest single Shahada.
Shahada is somewhat of a departure from Lisa’s signature sound. This single represents a shift in perspective as she marks her recent reversion to Islam, celebrating her personal and creative evolution. Layered over an atmospheric backdrop we see Lisa Mercedez in fresh creative space, teaming up with Persian vocalist Shy who’s added mesmerising vocal flourishes to the dark, piano-led track. Lisa delivers bars which riff on her recent journey, using it as a way of expressing her newfound faith.
Talking on the inspiration behind the track, she explains;
“This track reflects the journey I have been on as an artist and my recent reversion to Islam. Musically I‘m still very much a Dancehall Artist, but I make whatever is good and right for me when I‘m in the studio, I don‘t like to limit myself as a creative.”
