Ipswich-born, London-based rapper and producer Piers James has released the brand new video for Young, Black, British.

Featured on his A Dying Breed Part 1 EP, Piers reflects on the hardships he’s experienced and the obstacles he’s hurdled, from being temporarily forced to sideline his dream of pursuing music in order to support his young son, to reflecting on the regular micro-aggressions and often overt racism he suffered growing up in a predominantly white town. Young, Black, British (a track written 3 years ago with a nod to Jon Boyega), feels more powerful than ever after the prominent BLM movement. Piers seeks to inspire others to transcend similar circumstances and aspire to greatness, name-checking other beacons of black excellence including Skepta.
