Shivani Day Drops Empowering New Single ‘Know When You Call

Leicester-born and London-based artist Shivani Day has released her latest single, Know When You Call, via FAMM. Known for crafting immersive soundscapes, Shivani fuses futuristic sonics with Reggae, Dancehall, and traditional influences to create empowering music. The track, a collaborative production effort with long-term partner Minas, serves as what she describes as “an ode to the girls crying in the club,” exploring the emotional complexities of personal relationships.

“I wanted to write from the perspective of having a conversation with yourself—when you know you should listen to your mind over your heart,” Shivani shares. “It’s almost an inner monologue trying to convince yourself not to go back to someone or something.” The track’s ethereal production is combined with Shivani’s evocative vocals. 

Shivani Day’s musical journey has been deeply ingrained in her identity since childhood. Initially making waves as a DJ, she performed for Boiler Room, Foundation FM, Balamii, and Azeema before transitioning into music-making during lockdown. Her debut project, That Which Is Not, released in the summer of 2024, cemented her evolution as an artist. As a vocal coach for Shaé’s Universe, she refined her craft, with early demos eventually shaping her six-track EP.

With Know When You Call marking her first release since That Which Is Not, Shivani is gearing up for an exciting summer ahead. This single is just the beginning of what promises to be a compelling year for the rising artist.
