Before we get into the headliner, allow me to bring you up to speed with The Chart Update. We’re approaching the second half of the year, and already, from January to June, there has been a surge in homegrown talents within Drill, Rap, and Wave charting.

For albums and singles alike, the likes of Central Cee, AJ Tracey, Digga D and ArrDee have smashed their debut and seen their singles be a stamp in British music, allowing for more acts from the ‘urban’ culture to achieve similar critical acclaim.

We’ve explored why Dave’s ‘Psychodrama’ and D Block Europe’s ‘The Blue Print: Us Vs Them’ albums were able to spend over 50 weeks within the UK charts table. Most of all, The Chart Update has documented and celebrated the recent historical success of Russ Millions and Tion Wayne’s now-platinum “Body” anthem spending 3 weeks at #1.

So, here we are with this week’s news.

Brighton’s viral newcomer, ArrDee, has risen to #6 on the UK Singles Chart with “Oliver Twist”, his first charting solo single. Still, weeks later, Olivia Rodrigo’s “Good 4 U” is the #1 single to beat as she remains on top of the charts with her popular TikTok campaign.

This week, our most significant acknowledgment goes toward the display of longevity from our scene. Remaining in the top 30 UK singles is AJ Tracey’s “Love Me A Little More”, Russ and Tion’s “Body”, and new entry from the Edmonton-hailing rapper: “Wow”.

It doesn’t stop there. Floating within the top 50 British albums is AJ, with highly-anticipated ‘FLU GAME’, and West London’s Central Cee via his ‘Wild West’ mixtape, both of which had flawless campaigns.

As the U.K. slowly, but surely, returns to normalcy, we should continue to see our prominent artists make more waves in the official charts.
